SBI Card PRIME: rewards, caps and exclusions

The SBI Card PRIME pays about 5% on Birthday spends, on the first ₹9,000 of spend a year, and 0.5% on everything else. Below is every rate, cap and exclusion in SBI Card's published terms, as we last checked them on 18 July 2026.

≈ marks a rate paid in points, converted at ₹0.25 a point: the lowest redemption value SBI Card documents. Some redemptions are worth more; we price at the floor, because that is what the points are worth whichever way you spend them.

What earns nothing

Spend in these categories earns no rewards on this card, however it is paid for:

  • Fuel
  • Wallet loads
  • Rent
  • Utility bills
  • Government payments
  • Insurance premiums

Milestones

In SBI Card's own words:

  • Pizza Hut voucher on ₹50,000 spend/calendar quarter → Pizza Hut voucher ₹500
  • Yatra/Pantaloons ₹7,000 voucher on ₹5,00,000 spend/year → ₹7,000 voucher (Yatra/Pantaloons)

Fees

  • Annual fee: ₹2,999, plus 18% GST
  • Joining fee: ₹2,999
  • Annual fee waived on ₹3,00,000 of spend in a card year
  • Foreign-currency markup: 3.5%
