Standard Chartered Ultimate Credit Card: rewards, caps and exclusions
The Standard Chartered Ultimate Credit Card pays about 2% on Bills, Groceries, Rent, Education, and 3.33% on everything else. Below is every rate, cap and exclusion in Standard Chartered's published terms, as we last checked them on 9 October 2026.
What it earns
≈ marks a rate paid in points, valued at ₹1 a point. That is Zenidhi's conservative valuation, the same one the audit uses: the cheap end of what the points can be redeemed for, never the best transfer. Redeemed well, they can be worth more.
What earns nothing
Spend in these categories earns no rewards on this card, however it is paid for:
- Fuel
- Cash withdrawals and fees
What costs extra
Worse than earning nothing: Standard Chartered charges a fee for these.
- 1% on Rental payments, plus GST
Milestones
In Standard Chartered's own words:
- The Ultimate cardholder is eligible to receive 5,000 Reward Points on payment of Renewal Fees. → 5,000 RP
Fees
- Annual fee: ₹5,000, plus 18% GST
- Joining fee: ₹5,000
Welcome benefit: 6,000 reward points on payment of the ₹5,000 joining fee on paying the joining fee.
